Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
(John 11:25–26)
1 know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and I shall see God: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another.
(Job 19:25–27)
We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
(1 Timothy 6:7; Job 1:21)
"It's Not Just About You, It's Bigger Than You"
Intro:
Story About The Soda Pop Machine and the visitor’s kid getting a free soda. I asked for one because surely I knew I would get one, being a son and all, but was rejected. No soda pop for you. My Dad in his own way was teaching me that this act of giving the soda pop was not just about me, It was much bigger than me. It was about showing love to someone who probably was not getting much.
When we were very young, My dad used to bring potato chips for our sister but not for us. Being immature we thought to ourselves, ”Where is our Chips?” We didn’t remember that we had paper routes and were making money at 8 and nine years of age. Again in his own way he was reminding us that “It Wasn’t Just About Us Only, It Was Bigger than Us”. We were taught to think bigger than just about ourselves.
Immature people only consider themselves. They are unable to consider the thoughts and feelings of others. What a shame.
Remembering the Sunday Wake up Call! It was The Roll Call every Sunday Morning About 7AM.
RAY,HOSEA,MARK,NATHAN…..GET UP AND GET READY FOR CHURCH! THIS WAS DONE ABOUT THREE TIMES. AFTER NO ONE WOULD ANSWER, HE WOULD JUST BEGAN TO CALL, “MARK”,MARK, MARK! GET EVERYBODY UP AND GET READ FOR CHURCH.
I WOULD BE SO ANGRY AT MY BROTHERS FOR NOT ANSWERING. A FEW TIMES I TOLD MYSELF I WOULDN’T ANSWER TODAY BUT FOUND MYSELF SAYING”YES SIR?”. AND HE WOULD SAY GET EVERYBODY UP.
My thought” It’s Not Just About You, It’s Bigger Than You” Some might agree and say It not about us but it is! It’s just not only about us, that is this LIFE. My Father once said while in a Foxhole, booms dropping all around him. Soldiers being killed and injured’ “God, if you bring me back home I’ll do whatever you want me to do”. God had to do something because he made his Promise about something bigger than just himself. Everyone of us are sitting in this place because a made a promise to God that became bigger than himself.
I am reminded of Hannah in the Bible who was unable to have children. She was mocked by her husbands’ other sister wife to because it was a consider a curse to be childless. She made a promise to God that if he gave her a man-child, she would give him right back to God. God granted her this petition. She gave her son Samuel to God and He gave her Five more children for the one she gave up. You can’t beat God arithmetic. God won’t just add to you, he will multiply and
Do some algebra and trigonometry for you. Come on somebody.
My Father’s life was not just about himself, It became Bigger then Him, Bigger than His short comings, bigger than his faults it was about Jesus. The forgiving power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Early Church on the day of Pentecost. It was Bigger than just the twelve, It became 120, but that’s not all. It became over 3,000 and kept on growing because it was Bigger than just them. Make your life bigger than just you, I invite you to make it about Jesus.
Family make your life bigger than just you. If your life is just about you, you’re a narcissus and that means you are sick in the mind.

The text said that This Promise was bigger and not just for them, but their children, their children’s children and to as many as the Lord our God shall call. To save themselves from this untoward generation.
